    Lost Desktop Icon -SOLVED

    So I moved my icon to the corner by accident, and now I am unable to move it back or click on it.

I don't know what to call the old desktop since the tile version is called Metro. But when working on the old desktop version and you want to clear everything off the screen and just view the desktop, where is the button for this? XP had this button, but cant find it on W8.

Well, this is embarrassing. I downloaded Win 8 and I've been futzing around with it and recently performed a "refresh" that knocked out most of my previous apps. Went to System Restore but found out that no restore points had been set up. Tried to configure it but it wouldn't set a date and time...

I have a icon on my desktop that will not let me delete it. When I try to delete it, I get the message "could not find this item This is no longer located on desktop. Verify the item's location and try again." The icon is on the desktop. Also, it will not let me move it or copy it
...... which is currently on my Start / Metro list? The closest I see is "Pin to taskbar" which is not what I want. I only want it on my desktop. Thanks
Is there any way to get back the active desktop that Microsoft took out with Vista? I'd love to be able to make my own interactive desktops with javascript/HTML like I did with XP and earlier.
