What is 'Program'?

    What is 'Program'?

In Task Manager's Startup tab I see an item vaguely identified as 'Program' (see attached graphic).

If I right-click on it the Properties menu item is grayed out.

Is there a way I can discover more about this task and specifically whether I should uninstall it, and how to uninstall it?

    Thanks for any advice.

Not sure what you are looking at, if that is your Task Manager, then something is very hosed. Tell us what you did to get to that window? If thats the startup tab, something is wrong.

    Download CCLEANER

CCleaner - PC Optimization and Cleaning - Free Download

And go into "Tools" and "Startup" and see exactly what programs are starting up, since Task Manager is not showing you what's there.

If you right click it, does it not show you the "open program location" dialogue?

Dave, I'm not sure if the word "Program" is a Program, I think it is the title, and there is nothing in his Startup, which should not be.

Thanks for the idea, but I think it is an extract from the complete folder. Have a look in your startup window and you will see what I mean. No such column title as "Program"

It doesn't look anything like that on my computers.

The first graphic that I posted was too terse.

Here's another screen shot of the Task Manager Startup tab, this time showing the right-click menu for 'Program'.

Thanks for the replies so far.

    Here's my ccleaner Startup display.

If I use the 'right scroll' icon there is nothing to the right of 'Context Menu'. In other words, the graphic shows all six Startup tabs in ccleaner.
