I will reboot and check what you mean by "the Dos version", of the Seagate tools and make sure I used the right one. Be back later

Crap! Ok, sorry for all the trouble, but we did find some errors as I was expecting. Your HDD was ok, you had some file system corruption.

Can you get into safe mode? Also? Do you have an install disk? There is something we can do but you have to be in Windows to do it. Can you get into windows at all?

OK I gave up on finding the motherboard manufacturer on HP.. I don't think they know or can be sure' even though I had the part number. Figures it was made in China.

So I took the PC apart and removed the motherboard and tomorrow ,(maybe), I will look up the pictures I took of it,(hi-def), and figure it out. Its 2:00 AM and i'm done for now.

That's cool the thing needed to be cleaned anyway.

See you later folks and have a great Thanksgiving. May God Bless you.

I didn't need to know the motherboard, just the HP model number.

If you have the Installer Disk, you can boot to it and get into advanced troubleshooting and open a command prompt, from there you can run

    Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

DISM - Fixing Component Store Corruption in Windows 8

Aftyer that, run SFC /scannow at least 3 times, and see if eif that clears up any of the problems.

I rebooted with the Windows 8 Pro install disk,...Got to the command prompt on install disk, but it didn't understand the syntax or command.

    Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

It knew what DISM was, but from there it was lost.

    Can you explain X?

    Thanks it IS Black Friday..

Maybe you should talk to me like I'm a Two Year old (sorry Bold text)
