Well, you could try running a SFC command at boot.

Well, you could try running a SFC command at boot, but that's not going to help with your permission issues.

Kaya, sorry to pop in here, but did you notice there is a Grey Down Arrow next to the "This PC" Icon? It's aimed to the right, it needs to be aimed Down. Just click on the arrow, right on the arrow and it should point DOWN and show you your PC.

You need to turn on Navigation Pane to have it show like Windows 7.

I'm using Windows 8, so it is a little different:

See the arrows? If I click on them, they will toggle aimed to the right and aimed DOWN.

Here this should illustrate what I am talking about:

My Arrow is now aimed DOWN and the drives are Visible.

DO NOT do a refresh, I believe this is all that was wrong.

    Hello Jon,

I don't think that's his issue. His "This PC" window never loads and is blank other than the navigation pane.

No... Actually you are right, he has a Nav pane, but I am still right, his Arrow is not pointing down - I'll bet if he clicks on the arrow, his drives will appear.

    Here, look at this

Just click the Arrows, and they will expand out. This is an option in Advanced View Options, to have the folders expand out when Explorer is opened. His is shut off.

I'm going to set up my Test machine, and see if my Explorer looks like his after I set it like he has it.
