Weird Win 8 Issues Including User Accounts, Flash and more

I don't know if this is the right section or not since this involves more then one issue. If this isn't the right section I apologize and feel more then free to move this thread to wherever it needs to go. I want to preface this long and complicated maze of issues by saying re-installing Win 8 didn't work. I wish there was a spoiler tag option on this board so I could hide this first part so it wouldn't be as long. Since there's not here I go with posting about what I came to post about.

Here's the post I've made on multiple sites on the internet including Dell's Support Forum, Adobe Support Forum, Microsoft's Support Forum and other Tech Support Forums. If you Google this issue it will bring up posts from me and pretty much nobody else hence why I can't get this fixed, In addition to not being able to watch the streams on Justin.tv in IE or FF I can't watch them on Veetle or ilive either. YouTube works fine. It's sites that require 3rd party cookies that are the issue.

I also don't know if this is a problem with my Inspiron 5720, Windows 8 or Adobe Flash. This has been going on since I first started using the laptop out of the box. I have tried contacting Adobe and posted on their forums and gotten no follow up to help with this since mid summer and even then it was a couple of replies. I am at my wits end. I've re-installed Win 8 and now even upgrading to 8.1 didn't change anything. Here's what I've posted about this issue elsewhere online but revised somewhat since 8.1 came out. I haven't been able to find a solution and have done just about every advised thing I could find on Adobe's site/forums suggested by Adobe employees to other people with similar issues. I just want help to get this resolved.

I have Windows 8 and am for the most part trying to see streams broadcast on Justin.tv using any browser besides Chrome but as I mentioned this issue affects other sites too. I can view streams on JTV using Chrome when I have it's built-in flash player going but if I try to use the one I downloaded it doesn't work and gives me the same issues as Firefox 25 and IE 11 which are a blank screen for the stream and a constant loading circle for chat. After a good bit of googling I found out that to see streams on Justin.tv you have to have the 3rd party cookies option enabled in flash. When I try to do this with the online settings manager it won't allow me to check to accept 3rd party cookies. Nothing else I've tried has worked such as downgrading browsers in FF's case and trying the current flash version and the beta one. Older versions of flash outside of IE just tell me I need to upgrade.

I've cleaned the cache so many times. The box is not clickable at all. It lights up when I put my arrow over it but it won't allow it to be checked. Also, when I try to change storage settings those settings don't take either.

I've used the uninstaller that's downloadable off of Adobe's site, restarted my computer and tried downloading the most recent Flash version again. I still can't click on these boxes and the changes for storage don't get saved when trying to do so when using Firefox or IE.

I don't know what to do with IE 11 since I have Win 8 and flash is integrated as it is with Chrome. Funny thing is as I mentioned before the only way I can watch Justin.tv feeds is with Chrome and using it's integrated Flash.

Any help trying to resolve this is greatly appreciated.

I've been in contact with Dell through Twitter going on two weeks now. I tried calling and they just wanted to transfer me to a paid software support line twice. Here's the threads they are directing me to here and telling me to follow the instructions in them to resolve my issue. My problem is the things being advised in these threads are really confusing to me and I'm not a newbie to computers at all.

Hi, I'm sorry to hear about the trouble you've had. Please download the fixit from http://del.ly/6012bqVQ and let me know the status. ^VS

It says "We're sorry, but your operating system is not supported by Microsoft Fix it at this time.".

Can you confirm if other live streaming videos work fine on Internet Explorer apart from the ones at Justin TV. ^VS

Doesn't work on Veetle either another social streaming site. YouTube live and non live YouTube videos work fine. ilive.to streams also don't work.

It looks like there may be an add-on which could be a cause of the problem. Have you tried disabling add-ons. ^VS
I disabled all addons and still nothing. As I mentioned it didn't even work with a clean install of Win 8 with nothing else added.

Since Flash is built into IE 11

When I say nothing else added I mean no other browsers installed or anything else. Just trying right after clean install was done.

Since flash is working as normal, I'd suggest you to contact the support at Justin tv and check what they say about the issue. ^VS

It's not working on sites other then Justin.tv. Did you not see my reply when I said that? So it's not just a problem on their site.

I can't check the 3rd party cookie box in Flash Settings online for IE or FF and when I try to use the downloaded version of Flash in Chrome instead of the built in one it doesn't work either. With the built in Flash in Chrome that box is already taken care of.

Something is wrong when I can't even get this done with a clean fresh install of Win 8 with nothing else installed.

Since Youtube videos are working fine, that's why I mentioned that issue is not with flash. Does youtube videos play in all browsers. ^VS

So what am I supposed to do when even re installing Windows doesn't work? That's supposed to solve pretty much everything.

Windows re-installation eliminates OS related issues. I'll need to research on this, please allow me 24-48 hours time. ^VS

Ok. Do you need my Service Tag or anything?
Here it is anyway *******

Any updates yet?

We're working on it. It could most likely be an issue with the media player that is being used since Youtube plays fine. Is it possible 1/2

0f29c2000fea5dc74cc5817037d7f9b1_normal.png
to check on a windows 7 system? Also try in different User accounts? We'll have to isolate this further 2/2 ^SP

A non named guest account works fine and I cannot figure out what is going on with the main account to cause this because cont.

As I said reinstalling Win 8 didn't fix it on the main account and I hadn't tried a guest one previously. My Mom's Win 7 system works fine.

Hi, I'd request you to please create a new user account with admin rights and let me know your findings. ^VS

That works correctly just like a Guest User account does.

I did some research and would suggest you to move your data & files to the new user profile. Check this link http://del.ly/6014jMRa ^VS

I checked that link. I don't have different partitions and what would moving my profile to a disk do? That article was extremely confusing.

I understand article is about moving the user profile information to a different disk. However, you can use the same article to carry -

0f29c2000fea5dc74cc5817037d7f9b1_normal.png
all the information to the new user profile where videos are working fine. ^VS

Even if I do all of that how do I use my only MSN account info on the new profile if it's already attached to the main Admin account?

the above from Dell is the answer to you problems ,as you say it works on a guest user ,just create a new user on you computer[no need for an other partition to do this ,] and then with the help of windows explorer [copy & past]move files and data ,favorites ect you have in the old acct to the new one ,and see how it goes for you on streaming video

How do I use windows explorer to do that? I know how to do it with a portable hd but I have so many videos that it could take hours that way.

Thank you so much.

I'm going to attempt this later today now that I have time. Are there a couple steps repeated in that tutorial? I got confused because it seemed like there were repeats in the instructions.
