How do I merge disk volumes in Windows 8?

    Hey guys,

I want to merge my drive volumes into one volume. I'm in disk manager and get this screen:

I just want a C partition, and I would like to add all of the space from the D partition to that.

How do I go about doing this?

Just delete the D Partition. You will have to use Minitools Partition Wizard Home to re-size the C partition.

Best Free Partition Manager Freeware and free partition magic for Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows Vista and Windows XP 32 bit & 64 bit. MiniTool Free Partition Manager Software Home Edition.

If you are trying to save anything that is already on the D partition, well you will have to move that out before you do this.

There's no way to do it just from the Disk Management utility?

They have "Shrink/Extend" volume in the Disk Manager when you right click on the partition, I've never used those. I just use the 3rd party program cos it is easier, plus they make it absolutely clear what you are doing.,

The "Shrink/Extend" tools are very less than clear.

I'll have to check out the "Shrink/Extend" tools, I think the 'Extend" tool will create a partition across multiple disk drives, not sure about a single drive.
