Hi. how do I enable subtitles in Windows 8.1 Video player?

Might be a setting, pull out the charms bar while the app is running and go down to the gear, see if there is a setting for it there. Otherwise, right click on the App Windows anywhere and see if any more options pop up.


VLC will automatically load any Sub file you have automatically, the sub file needs to have the exact same name as the content file. Any media playback will be better in VLC than on any tile app, and so far there are no tile apps as good as VLC, the built in video player is extremely limited

I just checked, the Default Windows 8 Vid player WILL NOT play Subs, only Closed Captioning.

Of course this is nearly 2014 and we are on the latest billion dollar OS (8.1) from Micro$oft.
I wonder if Windows 9 will be an improvement.

I just installed 8.1 on my test machine, I can see if it is better there.
