In Windows 7, the input method is application-specific, i.e., when you change the input method in one application, it doesn't affect other applications. However, in Windows 8 this seems to be changed: the input method is system-wide.
The problem is: I need to use Chinese input (either the embedded Windows Chinese input, or the one from Google, I prefer to use the later), which seems to only use US keyboard layout. However, I am using Finnish layout, so the locations of symbol keys are different. I need to frequently switch the input methods, which is really annoying. I really miss the one in Windows 7: the Chinese input was only effective for the application I needed to type Chinese
