Hi,
As the title suggests, I have both windows 7 and 8.1 installed on my laptop but do not have an ssd. So switching from 8.1 to 7 is sometimes lengthy.(5mins or so)
Could anyone tell me what would be the fastest way to boot windows 7 when I am still in windows 8.1?
I like to be efficient:)

This is what I usually do:
Run msconfig
change my default os to windows 7 and restart.

Is there a better way?

Thanks for reading

Hello thedodo,

If you have both Windows 7 and Windows 8 listed in your Windows Boot Manager/Choose an OS screen, then you could also use the shortcut below while in Windows 8/8.1 to quickly choose to "Use another operating system" to boot into Windows 7.
The option above will also not change your default OS you have set to run at startup.

Hope this helps, :)
Shawn

Thanks, I'll give that a try too.
I did some browsing and found this software called iReboot by NeoSmart Technologies. It seems to do the job too.
Have you heard of it before?

Ah, I didn't see the "Limited, free download for non-commercial use" link there at first.
