Program to block specific Service Host from starting...??

Since I installed 8.1, my machine is running hot, 45c, but when I shut down one of the many Service Host:Local Service(s), it drops back down to 20c, where it was always with 8.

I can manually shut it down each time.... but I's like to block it from starting in the first place. Shutting down seems to have no other effect other than dropping the temp.

I need to find a fix.... or go back to 8.

Hello (Rickkins). A Service Host is usually activated by a process.
A temperature spike would happen if there were increased CPU activity on a process (or processes).

I would check everything related to CPU utilization percentages in the task manager, particularly Processes and the Details tabs and Background Processes for excessive activity. What does your Performance (tab) CPU utilization score show at idle?

In 8.1, does it ever idle at around 3 percent (zero to 8) or is it running a process that drives the CPU score to a high percentage? Do you get high temperatures at low (or idle) CPU activity levels?

Do you get a temperature spike with a report like this?

    Thanks for the reply.
I hesitate to speak too quickly, but......

I just replaced my H80i watercooler, with the Noctua NH-D14, and things seem to have stabilized.

I gonna run a few things simultaneously for a while, see what stressing it will do, but I think the buggy corsair software didn't agree with 8.1.....
