Windows Edition not showing up in System

I did a clean install of Windows 8.1 Pro and after activation the Windows edition is not showing up. It doesn't effect the performance of the computer, but it bugs the crap out of me. Is there any way to fix it so it will show the Windows edition again?

    Check this registry key:

    HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\ProductName ==== Windows 8.1 Pro

If it's not set to that, change it.

Open an elevated command prompt, input "slmgr.vbs /dlv" (without quotes) and see what response you get:

Note that I have removed some information from my view but the red boxes are the important ones.

I opened regedit and navigating got to "CurrentVersion" and there is no "ProductName" there. I don't have the value "ProductName" in my registry.

It shows that same thing, "Windows(R), Professional edition."

Yes but how about the rest of the view? How about giving us the information from my highlighted boxes in red?

Yes, I can see that. So, it just might be what Ztrucker thought initially:

So, here are the registry locations where that information should appear:

If they are absent, then you will most likely have to add them manually. If you know how to do this, then great; however, if you need assistance in doing so, I'll ask you to work with Ztrucker directly, because it was his discovery and he deserves the credit here, and I'm sure he'll get you through the "how to" procedure.

    Good luck.

    Open regedit.
    Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion
Right click on CurrentVersion and select New then String Value.
    Call it ProductName
Double click on it and set it's value to Windows 8.1 Pro

    Repeat for HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion
