Keyboard Mute Button Doesn't Work

So, I go to uninstall the Logitech Setpoint driver, as suggested by Topgundcp. Here's what I see when I click the program in the Programs Control Panel console.

Not exactly a confidence builder... Clicking on OK does nothing and SetPoint remains in the list of installed programs. Can't really blame this on Microsoft, but the bottom line is that it's another broken thing on top of the broken thing...

Even this Windows 8 system, this one was upgraded from 7, and from a 7 that had Not Net problems. So I inherited those from 7. It works well enough for now, but I'm due for a new Main Hard Drive and Fresh Install soon.

See, this is what bugs me tough, even without special drivers from Logietech, Windows should detect all of the special keys.
The only ones that don't work for me on my Logitech keyboard are the custom Blue colored buttons for launching Word, Excel, etc. Basically the programmable F1 F2 F3 ones. All the media keys like volume up down and mute work just fine with the standard Windows driver.

Download a new file and try reinstalling it. It may give you a repair option. Then if you want try uninstalling it again.

Thats a 2 sided coin, it's not just the installer that has to come out, there is probably a Device for it in Device manager try rolling the Driver back to an earlier driver. Look for something called "Setpoint"

To verify that setpoint is compatible with Windows 8. I downloaded setpoint 6.1.15.0 from logitech and installed it. Everything is working fine and when I try uninstalling, I get what shown in the screen shot which is different from yours.

In conclusion, The setpoint software in your PC is not properly installed. You can try to re-install the software as suggested above then uninstall it. I use Logitech Keyboard with all my PC's and never have to install anything unless you want Hotkey assignments, re-assign keys etc... The basic functions of the keyboard is enough since I use the mouse mostly for navigating within Windows. However, I still incline to think that there is something wrong and flaky with your Mute button.

I have also just updated to 8.1 and mute and WiFi key does not recognize. I have a Toshiba Satellite P855-S5102 Laptop and was on tech support for about an hour yesterday any nothing. After uninstalling installing drivers there was nothing they could do. The techs advise (level 2) was that maybe Toshiba has not received the update or fix yet?

Problem resolved -- I've reinstalled Windows 7, Service Pack 1.

    Everything works correctly...so far.

Thanks again to everyone who took time to offer a suggested solution. I do appreciate it, but in the end, life is too short too waste any more time fixing things that Microsoft could have and should have gotten correct two versions ago.

    win 8.1

    Me as well

I resisted installing win 8.1 for as long as I could till my system FORCED me to update. Now my mute and wifi on/off buttons do not function. Since I use both of these buttons frequently, I REALLY would like to get this fixed.

I'm using a Toshiba Satellite laptop as well. I feel your pain.
