Windows 8.1: Battery charger disconnects Ethernet

Hello, I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this, so I apologize if this is in the wrong subforum.

I recently upgraded my OS from Windows 8 to Windows 8.1, and everything seemed to run normally. I have to connect to the internet via ethernet cable, which isn't a problem at all. However, whenever I plug in the battery charger, the ethernet connection stops working, but I can still connect via Wifi adapter.

I can't use wifi most of the time, so this does bother me a lot. Does anyone know how to fix this?

Are you plugging in the AC "while connected" to the internet or "before" you boot?

Both ways throw off the ethernet connection. It seems to work sometimes if I unplug the ethernet cable and reconnect it while the battery charger is plugged in though.

OK, I can see where the plugging in "after" boot could cause some issues because of the Power Management changing from "on battery" to "AC" requirements. However, from a cold boot with AC plugged in that should not happen. So, could you try removing the battery and testing with AC only, then booting, to see if that configuration has any impact on your issue?

Well, the laptop is a toshiba satellite s50dt-asp5260s, and I just can't seem to find the battery on it without having to take a look at the insides of it. Not sure if I explained myself properly.

That looks like a slide out battery from the back because I think I can see a release slider.

That's an example of what most laptops look like.

That was not clear from your post. Good luck with finding a fix.
