Since I installed 8.1, I can no longer edit HTML with note pad. Is there a way to set IE 11 to use note pad?

    Hello Frank,

You should be able to use "Open with" to open the .html file with Notepad. Just be sure to uncheck the "Use this app for all .html files" box to prevent setting Notepad as the default program to always open .html files with.

Open with - Change Default Program in Windows 8

    Hope this helps.

Shawn, is the selection for "Edit HTML" still in 8.1, when you go into Internet Tools and Default Programs? you can just put Notepad into that selection box.

Thanks to all for you input. If I remember correctly, on the earlier versions of IE you had to hit the F12 key in order to set it to use notepad to write or edit HTML.
