Solved moving taskbar

So I am using Win8 not pro, and I have moved the task bar to the top off my screen and set to autohide, but now when ever anything opens windows places it at the top of the screen and underneath the taskbar, is there a way to make windows open down the screen slightly, as I fight with the task bar to move the window.

Thanks appreciate

Ken

I don't think so, 8 and 8.1 work best with the taskbar on the bottom.

With AutoHide on, it is supposed to drop the taskbar down while a program is up. With the Bar up top, that does not work as well.

Basically it is the same amount of space you have if you keep it on the bottom, but for some reason it is more irritating to have the Windows dropped down from the top. With the bar on the bottom, it is lifted up slightly.

One thing you can do, is right click on your taskbar and choose "Properties"- Then select "Use Small taskbar Buttons" - This way, it will DECREASE the entire width of the bar, and it won't be as irritating when it is up top.

Not that will make half a taskbar pop up, er, I mean down. But if you use smaller taskbar icons, it makes it more manageable when it's on the top.
