You could test my last suggestion so we could have another voice in the matter.

Thanks for the script this could come in handy someday and the script works as it should on my laptop.

OP might have to try a clean install of Windows 8.1 if this issue is not resolved through EightForum or Microsoft, that's my only input.

Is there anyway to delay the start time of a script similar to one on this thread say from 3 - 5 seconds when added to the start of Windows with Scheduled Task?

I'm asking because I want to create a script specifically for my laptop that disables my laptop's webcam (fn+esc) at every Windows start but I need the script to start after my system has loaded the hotkey software for the function keys to work on my laptop.

PS. Oh and just so you know I tried to give you a reputation but something about spreading it around did not allow me to do so...LOL

    You could run:

    sfc /scannow

    and

    Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

In administrator command prompts & then try the vbs script if it doesn't work the first time.

I can't help with the script.
I found this one using Google.
    Sorry.

Give it a few hours or a day & try the rep again.
    Thanks in advance.

I'm not sure, but could it be that only the OP can give a rep?

David gets about 60 of them from me on this subject alone.

    Thanks for the reply,

I just found the answer to my question, sometimes I'm just lazy to look up the answer myself and want to be spoon fed by another member that I think is either more knowledgeable than myself or already knows the answer to my question without having the need to research further.

This keyboard doesn't have lights, so I can't tell by that.

Next trial is to get out that yucky wired keyboard that came with the computer and see if Num Lock works on it.

Edit: Oh yeah, the vbs script didn't work either.
