So I got Batman: Arkham City on Steam and installed it. Once it was loaded, I started it up, but the Games for Windows Live overlay never came up and as a result I have been unable to save me game. Just to make sure it wasn't a problem with the game, I went back and installed Arkham Asylum (which I know worked back in Windows 7) and found that the overlay also wouldn't come up in that game too. I noticed that the desktop client for Windows live shows it's version number as being "Software Version: 3.5.0050.0/3.5.0088.0" but I checked and I know that version 3.5.0092.0 exists. I tried updating my client but it always ends up being 3.5.0088.0. Does the Developer Preview not support the latest version of Games for Windows Live?
