Windows 8.1 Cannot Sign in

I have just upgraded from windows 7 64 bit to windows 8.1 64 bit
When i try to sign in when i turn my laptop on it says password is incorrect i am using a local user and do not have a password so when i try to sign in and don't enter the password it does not let me sign in.

Try this, if it is a local account you can unlock the account and blank the password, but you will have to make a new one.

i dont have a copy of it to boot as it was a digital copy

It doesn't matter, all you need to do is stick the Password Reset program into a Bootable CD, and it will allow you to erase your password and set a new one.

If you don't know how to make a bootable CD with the Offline Password Reset program in it, you can download Hiren's Boot CD (from the link below) and it has this built in, just choose Offline Password Reset.

If you don't have an Optical Drive, you can use ISO2Disc to stick it onto a flash drive. Just Boot to either the disk with Offline Password Reset tool, or Hiren's, it runs a Linux program that allows you to reset your password.
