So, did you create the factory recovery discs when you were prompted to do so (during the initial setup)? So, did you notice anything peculiar or was there possibly a triggering event associated with this issue (eg, download something, deleted something, installed something).[/QUOTE]
I don't remember being prompted to make the factory recovery discs when prompted on start-up, maybe I didn't know what it was referring to. I've had the same macbook for seven years but grew up on windows, so it's been a while since I had a new one. I'm sorry to say that I did not make the factory recovery discs.
The triggers seemed to have been that I shut it down with Ctrl+Alt+Delete, and/or when I turned it on, it didn't seem like I had pressed the on button enough, so I pressed it again, and then it came on and went to a black screen that the mouse arrow could move around in at first, but then it froze, so I held the power button to shut it off. I waited about 10 seconds, and then turned it back on again, and now anytime I turn it on, it goes to the blue screen, asks me what language I want, I select US, and then I've tried all of the Troubleshooting options where it would hopefully fix itself, but none of them work. The only thing it seems I can do at this point is wipe the drive through the command.exe program, and install a new OS. However, I don't know how to do that and the only OS discs I have are mac, so I'm not sure if they'd even work. Thanks for taking the time to read this and your effort in helping me. My idiotic decisions do cause me pain.
