    Windows 8 "pro" media center?

I have windows 8 pro installed for a month or two now and just upgraded to 8.1 today. I said I'd go with the pro version since it had the media center...

I thought it was a downloadable app or add-on but when I went looking to install it today it seems that..
correct me if I am wrong, but even after buying the pro edition of Windows 8 I still have to pay to download the Windows media center?

Is that correct or is there something I'm missing?

If you want WMC you have to have Windows 8 pro you cannot upgrade Windows 8 to WMC. WMC is a $10.00 upgrade.

    64-bit Windows 10

    Hello Joe,

If you have Windows 8/8.1, you would need to add the Windows 8 Pro Pack for $69.99.

If you have Windows 8/8.1 Pro, you would need to add the Windows 8 Media Center Pack for $9.99.

Windows Media Center - Add to Windows 8

    Hope this helps,

    Windows 8 Pro with Media Center/Windows 7

69 bucks? Does that change a "Home" version of 8.x to a Pro version?

    Yea it does,
but you can buy a full pro version for that much on ebay anyway,
maybe cheaper if you buy an "upgrade" version, if you've got an old copy of windows vista xp etc..
