Windows 8 Wake Up Issues?

The Digi+ Power Control is for overclocking. I do have a mild overclock on this PC, but all settings except bus frequency and PCIe frequency were not changed. I have manually changed the memory timing. The Digi+ Power Control is essentially still using the non overclocked Optimized Bios settings. It boosts CPU and DRAM voltage when necessary, and keeps them low when not loaded.

All the AII Suite does is give you access to some of these BIOS settings from a Windows application.

I will look at the BIOS again to check the settings.

All I can suggest is you look for a way to confirm how your Power Options are being managed and switch to Windows Power Management. What you have described is a form of Power Management and I'll leave it at that so good luck.

Yes, I guess in effect it is a form of power management. But, it is controlling things like how much the voltage droops when more current is drawn. And, it also drops the CPU voltage when the bus frequency or multiplier drops. There are huge advantages to that, so for the minor inconvenience of a screen flicker, I will leave that intact. However, I don't think the issue is related. This seems more like the signal to the monitor being interrupted , or being resyncronized. I do use a Spyder4 monitor calibration system, but all it does is load a different color profile when the PC boots up. Should be no need to reload it when just turning the monitor back on. Plus this issue existed from day 1 of the new build, and well before I added the Spyder4.

In any case the power management features are described a bit more in this link. The way I read it, the basic power management is controlled by the mother board EPU and I have that disabled.

Perhaps there is something in the hardware setup of the monitor itself. Will have to look there...

Checked the monitor hardware menu and can't find anything set there. I have also monitored CPU frequency and motherboard voltages after the screen display is restored from sleeping. When the screen flickers about a minute after wake up the CPU frequency is unchanged at about 1/3 maximum. And the voltages are steady and reduced through the flicker.

Perhaps this is just a Windows 8 and/or driver bug that will go away when I upgrade to 8.1?
