any reason to use metro/tiles if you have no touch screen?

Is there any reason to use metro/tiles if you have no touch screen? Should I just try to setup my pc to have a start menu and look like windows 7?

Any input would be appreciated. I apologize if this question has been asked before.

There are many Programs that allow Windows 8 too boot to Desktop, Start8, Classic Shell, etc. SOme are paid, some not, Start 8 is only 5 bucks so it is worth it, I like it the best, others like other Orb replacements.

I use the tiles on my laptop and desktop, neither one has a touch screen. The lack of a touch screen doesn't mean you can't use them.

Start Screen tiles are much more than links like icons. Live tiles convey personal information in less time than the desktop platform with much less resources used. Much safer also.

There's nothing touch specific about tiles. I don't understand why you are associating them with each other. They have nothing to do with one another.

Tiles are just icons, just like in a start menu. But they can also be Live tiles, which combine the old Desktop Gadgets with Icons so they provide dual functionality.
