Here is the second preview story I read:
There will be an evaluation version
There is currently an evaluation version for Windows 8. When Windows 8.1 is released in a couple weeks, an evaluation version of that will be available. That's what I would wait for.

Everything you need to know about your Windows 8.1 upgrade options | ZDNet
there is not currently an evaluation of win8 ,it ended with the official release of win8.
the window 8.1 evaluation has been out for quite a awhile not ,guess you missed it
from the Link
[Note: I’ll be updating this post as new details emerge about the options discussed here. Last update: October 4, 2013, adding details about Windows 8.1 Preview]
the whole story in the link is bit off ,behind the time a bit my opinion
Well i think things must have changed recently,
from reading i thought is was a free upgrade through the Windows Store,
Just another way to fleece us out of our coffers eh?
Buy Windows 8.1 - Microsoft Store
Unless i'm reading it wrong, If you have Windows 8 already you get free upgrade
If your on Windows 7/Vista/XP you will need a Full Version??
Can someone clarify please??
