Computer crashes after resuming from sleep

I get this picture on a computer I built, all new parts. I can't figure out the problem. I built 4 other computers the same, being very careful when I put them together. Only this one has the problem.

I believe it mentions a surge issue after clicking view details. Specifically, the problem appears after the computer resumes from sleep over night. The problem is not present after a short sleep period. This problem forces the computer to shut down during the sleep period. Turning it back on shows the error (and not specific at all). I'd love it if someone could shed some light on this for me.

Hybrid sleep is OFF. Hibernate is OFF. Would just like to eliminate a few issues before I try to work on it. Would this have to be a faulty hardware issue, such as a bad PSU? I changed plugs that the computer was using, including a power strip and directly into the wall itself.

I will check the insides to make sure everything looks good. No GPU installed. Any exceptional software testers for the PSU I could try?

Let me know if you have any suggestions! Thanks!

    Hi friend,

Any Event Logs generated that might be time-coincident with the failure?

OK, to be honest, I was hoping to see some logs that were specifically related to ACPI thermal events. My first thought was that your issue might be related to a possible heat issue that arises after a prolonged period of operation. Anyway, it might be interesting to review your power plan and make sure that it meets your needs. I simply use a balanced plan and leave it at defaults.

Now, regarding your event ID 41, I can only say that it is one of the more common failures I have seen from time-to-time; however, usasma is so good at figuring those out, I never bothered to investigate them myself. In fact, I've seen rigs run error-free with those logs repeating periodically. With all that said, I am not the right guy to give you a quick answer on this issue so my advice is to wait for usasma or (hopefully) some other knowledgeable forum member will jump in to assist you further.

One last comment. I doubt that it has anything to do with your PSU (but I've been wrong before). Good luck.

No, it wouldn't be the heat. Newer system, quite cool inside. SSD so no heat from an HDD, no overclock, enough fans. It was built for an office environment. It is fast to load, but definitely not a gaming system. The problem only happens when the system is in sleep mode, otherwise seemingly problem free.

I can find out the exact specs and post, I suppose. Probably should have done that to begin with.
AMD A6-5400K APU with Radeon(tm) HD Graphics
    ASUSTeK COMPUTER INC. F2A55-M LE
    BIOS Date: 07/22/13 10:29:43 Ver: 64.02
Usable mem 3.20 GB 4.0 GB total
INTEL SS DSC2CT180A3 SATA Disk Device SSD
    (1) Realtek High Definition Audio (2) AMD High Definition Audio Device built-in
    AMD Radeon HD 7540D built-in/CPU
Microsoft Windows 8 Pro 64-bit 9200 Multiprocessor Free

Thanks for the response. I thought it was the PSU simply because I remember seeing something about power supply failure, but maybe I just read about the crash likely being caused by a power failure, etc.

Based on my experience with these systems, I recommend them highly (if you know how to build them) for their particular office use. Just this error is really bugging a coworker of mine, and I am looked up to as a tech person there, though I know less about computers than many. That is why I am seeing if someone has an idea of what this could be, as I've been searching online and now I have a headache

I'll take a look inside as soon as I'm able, probably not for another 2-4 days unfortunately, as I am not able to take it home

Alrighty, checked inside, didn't find anything amiss. Did discover the PSU is a 400 watt antec... that has been discontinued: http://www.antec.com/product.php?id=2244 (Click this link, select your region, and click this link again if it doesn't work)

I may very well (temp.) change out the PSU to see if anything rights itself. I'll post back soon as I can. Please let me know if anyone has another suggestion I might try. Thanks!

officially not the PSU. I'm at a loss. Could it be the motherboard, or software-related? Can't be the temps because it only happens when the computer is in sleep mode...
