Solved Windows 8 - booting problem

I recently upgraded to windows 8 with no issue. The problem now is every time i boot up my dell laptop i have to wait until i hear the windows music then i need to hibernate my laptop then turn it on again before the log in screen appears...

If i do not hibernate i just stare at a blank black screen

Can anyone help?

Did you upgrade to the latest BIOS (as recommended by Dell) before attempting the upgrade to Windows 8? Have you downloaded and installed all applicable Window 8 drivers from Dell?

I downloaded the Windows 8 from Microsoft as it was on offer. How do i check to make sure all my drivers are correct?

I flashed my bios and its worked. Thankyou very much

Will i need to do this again when i upgrade to 8.1 ??

Hi bosta77,

Glad to hear you got it working. I can't say for sure but I doubt that you will have to do it again for 8.1; however, the only way to be sure is to check with Dell before you make the move so save that link for future downloads and good luck.
