Hello,

I want to see a JPG that I viewed some time ago in the default viewer of Windows 8. Do copies of previously viewed pictures still exist in a directory somewhere? If so, how can I find them?

Thank you for all answers.

Hi Ted,

Yes, previously viewed images should still be in the same place you viewed them previously unless you deleted or moved them elsewhere. Now, if you don't know where that might be then they may be difficult to find but you couls start off by looking in your pictures folder. Another way to find those lost pictures might be to search for them by entering ".jpg" (without quotes) while you are viewing the computer area in explorer. This will list every .jpg on your PC and the list will be long but if you really need to find it again, this will locate it for you. Good luck.

Usually all of your pictures are saved in "My Pictures" or just "Libraries\Pictures" - If the image was downloaded, it would be in the Downloads folder by default. If it was an image opened from a web page, it would have been in the Browser Cache, and probably deleted by now if the cache is cleared upon exit.
