my pc freezing on boot screen when fast startup turned on

Even If I put it into hibernate mode it freezes on boot screen when I start it next time.
But it shows no problem in normal full shut down mode ( not fast startup). But in this mode it takes more time to boot . Pls someone help me.
(is it because of RAM ? I have less ram installed).

PC or LAPtop? fast Boot works best in Laptops that have the hardware support. I don't even have it on any of my systems.

On a PC, you may have to update your system BIOS. It sounds like the system does not support fast Boot.

Is it s self made system or an OEM, if self made, look up your Motherboard and see if it supports fast boot, do the same if it is an OEM. HP's and DELLS have tools on their support pages that figure out what system you have.

The Windows 8 Fast Startup is a hybrid boot mode similar to putting your PC in hibernate or sleep mode. If hibernate won't work fast boot won't either. Don't confuse this with the BIOS fast boot option, two entirely different things. It's likely a driver issue. Likely a hardware device that won't go into or come out of a sleep/hibernate state correctly. Just my guess as I disable hibernation on my systems. I found it troublesome in the past.

Maybe he has to set ACPI to S3 in the BIOS? That will enable sleep and hibernation, right?

There is a discussion about it here:

BIOS Settings: S1 or S3 for Hybrid Sleep? - Windows 7 Help Forums

Should be valid for Windows 8.

There should be three settings for it, "S1, S3, and Auto" - Auto should do it.

    Use Auto.

You will have to get into your BIOS, in brand new systems, sometimes you can get into it from PC Settings/Advanced Boot Options. Otherwise, DELLS are usually F1 or F2, HP's are F10, Home made systems will be "Delete"

As the computer is booting, Press F1 quickly, as soon ans the OEM splash screen shows. Keep trying different F keys until it says "Entering Setup" - Then go into your Power Options.
