Ok, so I bought a remanufactured Samsung NP350V5C with 12 months warranty, all good so far. Until today I installed Flatout2 which I picked up for £2, bargain, it asked me to restart, so I did. And no windows 8 wont boot, the automatic repair wont work and its coming up with C:\WINDOWS\System32\Logfiles\Srt\srtTrail.txt. I gather this isnt uncommon.....
So I thought id go for the refresh, then if need be reset, I only have a few bits and bobs installed, no huge loss for me, however it wants a disc or USB device... I was given nothing with the laptop. Is there a way for me to reboot without a disc or anything? I dont know if the warranty will cover this, the company I got it from have been pretty good before (first laptop I got the disc drive literally fell out.... shouldve listened to the warning bells.....) and replaced the laptop within 48 hours at no cost, but I dont know if software issues would be covered. Anyway I have messaged them, just thought id check out other options and see if there is a way around this?
Thanks
Andrew (average IT and IT related jargon level so please be kind!)
