Hello,

Long time I'm not using Windows Defender (it's disabled).
When I go in Search and apps -> Notifications, I can see blank Windows Defender Icon.

How to remove it or bring back the icon/windows defender from this list?

Well, I suppose since it's built-in to Windows, it will not be removed from here either just like in the Control Panel. It seems about all you will be able to do is turn the slider off.

Funny thing is that I don't have it listed there on my Windows 8.1 Enterprise RTM.

Does his Defender still work?

MY Windows Defender iCon is blank as well, but I'm using ESET NOD32, so Defender is de-activated.

I think it goes blank if you are using a 3rd party AV pogrom, er, Program.

Recently lost my Windows 8 on my main PC, had to go back to Windows 7.
Were using a 3rd party Antivirus program? Cos if you re-install whatever you were using, the iCon may go blank again.

My Media Computer also has no defender icon in there, but at one time I had eSet installed there too, but I took it out and re-activated Defender.
