In Win 8 I could start the machine by swiping fingerprint and it would take me straight to the metro screen of my account in windows. This was using Lenovo fingerprint reader software which is incompatible with 8.1 as 8.1 has fingerprint log-on built in.
In 8.1 RTM when I start the machine (or resume from hibernate) fingerprint restarts the machine but only takes me only to lock screen and I have to authenticate again to access my account. i.e. I have to give my fingerprint 2x instead of once. This is a bit annoying.
The driver I'm using is Authen Tec 1.6.1.341 Fingerprint Coprocessor which was installed automatically by Windows and otherwise works fine.
Is there anyway around this or is it expected behavior?
