    Hi there
Ms is pushing SILVERLIGHT yet it fails to operate correctly in IE11 -- so on the one hand Ms are pushing for a whole better approach to security whilst at the same time there's obviously NO CONTACT between them and the SILVERLIGHT team who use this package for Movie rights etc -- so LOADS AND LOADS of users who use things like NETFLIX or SKY GO are unable to get these working on Windows 8.1 properly (an OS MS itself WANTS users to take up). Even on Windows 8 you had to use various tricks to get this to work -- and how long now has Windows 8 been out.

Perversely on Windows 8.1 CHROME actually works with SKY GO - but you won't get the popout unfortunately -- still you can watch in full screen which often is OK.

Now if CHROME works (85% functionality -- I'm deducting 15% for the pop out window not working) why on earth can't Ms get ITS team in some sort of order.

Users want to watch things like Netflix / Sky GO -- if they can't do it properly on their computers --Tablets / Ipads / smart phones --here we come !"!!!!!.

I still can't believe that a product that's being RTM'd has got a MAJOR flaw with its browser - you can't blame NETFLIX or SKY for this fiasco this time.

From Day 1 if I'd been in the IE11 developers room I certainly would have tested SKY GO and NETFLIX before releasing IE11 - or are these developers ones who NEVER watch sport or movies -- because most of the people I know in I.T usually have video streams working most of the time anyway. !!!!

So Ms PLEASE FIX IE11 or SILVERLIGHT -- I don't care which but if CHROME can get it to work and that's not even an Ms product -- well 'nuff said.

Edit --CHROME now WORKS with popout window too for SKY GO

    1) allow popouts from the sky go site
    2) enter CHROME:PLUGINS in the chrome browser address bar
    3) enable (check the box) Silverlight plugin

    then all works

Netflix should also work too -- I'm not a subscriber to that service - however it's the same Silverlight problem as the others so the CHROME browser fix should work for Netflix too.

so CHROME - 100% for you.

Hi there I've posted on the Ms Office section in the W7 Forum info that Windows Live Messenger is closing in Mar 2013 and being replaced by SKYPE (which Ms bought sometime in 2011. I know a lot of Ms office users use Live messenger so prepare for the switch. Ms Lync is fine if you have a Lync...

I installed Win8 onto a separate partition and I suppose the MetroUI is a matter of personal taste. Personally not really for me but who knows what the final release will be. Maybe Microsoft are testing the waters and if there are enough negatives may give the option for a classic look otherwise as...
