    Can't View Properties of a File


    Hi...

    I can't view the properties of my files, when I right click on a file and choose its properties... I could see the properties of a folder though... Why so.. So strange... Help...

    How about a screenshot of a specific failure and are you getting any error messages?

    no error messages though.. when I click properties of a file, it does nothing

    Do any of the other righ-click functions work. Also, have you tried looking at the the properties of files with different extensions and they all react the same way?

    no... right click is working in every other features... file properties does nothing... tried various file types...

    Can you view them from the top ribbon? If so, maybe your context menu is corrupted:

    OK, at this point, I'm really not sure what's causing your problem so you can either wait for someone else or try these two suggestions:

    1- Default File Associations - Restore in Windows 8

    or

    2-Try this combo:

    SFC /SCANNOW Command - Run in Windows 8 (see option 2)

    If errors reported from above, follow this tutorial:

    DISM - Fixing Component Store Corruption in Windows 8
