Changing Partition and System Image

I just bought a new Gateway that came with Windows 8, and the partition is GUID (GPT)—so I am unable to use TrueCrypt for full-disk encryption. I wanted to change the partition, but the computer didn't come with a Windows 8 disk. All I have is a system image disk set that I created when I first set up the computer.

Does anyone know if I can open up command, change the partition table from within Windows, then restore the computer VIA system image? Will I need to get another drive first, or hook the current drive up to another computer and change there?

How might I go about changing the GUID to MBR without ruining the OS, because I don't have an installation disk for Windows 8.

As far as I know, Truecrypt doesn't officially support Windows 8 yet. Not sure if you want to try encrypting your whole HD with it until they do come out with a new version, just my two cents.

I'm pretty sure what "not fully supported" means is—that it doesn't support GUID partition. However, if you have MBR, it should work just fine. Yet even more, I'm not sure if you can even install Windows 8 on MBR—or if I will be able to use this system image I created after the partition is changed. Will this system image I created on a GUID partition be functional after the partition is changed to MBR?

You would need to Reset the UEFI/BIOS firmware to Legacy & reinstall with a Windows 8 retail DVD.

Do I change the BIOS or the partition first?

I don't have an installation disk for Windows 8. How will this effect my license because there was no license sticker. The license was coded into the BIOS. How will I activate Windows 8? Will I need to buy an entire new copy or something?

Maybe I am better off waiting until GUID is covered by TrueCrypt.

Okay so, in addition to having a System Image. There is a recovery partition on the computer. Does anyone know if I will be able to change the GUID to MBR, then recover the system from one of those two options? Or—will recovering from those options change it back from MBR to GUID?
