hey guys and gals, today, i started to consider downloading and installing windows eight. I mainly use my computer for games, and I've heard that windows eight is not ideal for gaming. if I do install windows eight, what version should i get with my 2 gigabytes of ram? i have tried windows eight on a friend of mines computer, and it seemed pretty good on the surface, but i would like more than just my first impression to go off. i have already asked the seven forums, but i figured i should ask you guys too if i want an unbiased decision.

thanks,
Liam Strivelli

Seriously? Gamer with 2GB ram? Not being a jerk, just being honest. Sounds like you need to upgrade your hardware before the OS.

What CPU and GPU?

Windows 8 is a very stable OS. Most gamers I know prefer Windows 8 over Windows 7. A few months after the launch only a few percent of the pc's worldwide used Windows 8, but a significant part of the Steam users used Windows 8.

So....gamers prefer Windows 8.

If you only have 2 GB of ram I'd advise the 32 bits version. You have too little RAM to use the 64 bit version without problems.

Goodluck with it!

hey thats not important, i get by fine for the games i play, but thats aside from the point.

My sincere apology, don't know many gamers with 2GB ram these days and thought you'd benefit more by adding more before upgrading OS. Must be old school games. Sorry if I offended you, really trying to help is all.

nobody means to be negative, some times it just seems negative , windows 8 will do fine with your games ,but win8 does work better with more ram ,good luck and hope you enjoy your games .
Give windows upgrade assistance a go ,it will tell you what win8 thinks of your games
Upgrade to Windows 8 - Microsoft Windows

I game with Windows 8 and have no problems. Don't know why some people complain.
I currently only have 4GB of RAM and run a GTX 770 and my pc is running better than ever with W8, I much prefer it over W7 now :)
