If everything is left at stock (default) place, downloaded files should be in C:/Users/ (name of the user)/ Downloads. If no name than in Default user.

For quick access to the download folder. Open File Explorer and click on the "Downloads" icon on the navigation pane as shown in the screen shot:

Hi, Sorry to be a noobie but right clicking and deleting is what i expected to do to remove/delete the files, but right or left clicking just opens the files with no option to delete. I will try again tomorrow and let you know. Thanks for your help. cheers

you need to use the mouse with a gentle touch to highlite the files firs ,they will likely turn blue[see image of my part of downloads folder ]
place the mouse cursor next to the edge of the file ,click and hold down the left mouse button and draw a box arounf the files and hit delete ,many ways to do it ,except automatically ,good luck

This is just a note on how to make selecting items easier.

Check Boxes to Select Items - Turn On or Off in Windows 8

In Folder Options enable using checkboxes:

Using checkboxes makes it easier to select objects:

    That's all.
I hope this is useful to someone.
