So i have an Asus laptop running on windows 8 pro. From the past 3 days, whenever I put my laptop on hibernation and switch it back on, the speaker doesnt seem to be working. I am not able to hear anything at all even if the volume is in max.
The only go around is to restart the laptop...

After much investigating I found that a Windows process called COM Surrogate runs every half hour or so, then closes.
What is COM Surrogate and why does it run so often??
