I did a search for a solution to the subject of my title but could not find an answer. I have downloaded some new software and drivers for some telemetry work I am doing with mybradio control hobby but when I access a menu for my receiver a message comes up saying effectively there is a problem with the msflxgrd.ocd file. I know this error signal could also sometimes occer with earlier versions of windows and when I used command language and typed the command to remove the fike and then reinstall a message came up saying file not found and so I guess the file is not in the registery. In case it was a problem with the telemetry software I had downloaded I uninstalled it and reinstalled it with no change. The software bye the way is shown as being compatabke with windows 8.
My question is how do I get the missing file msflxgrd.ocx back onto my computer and I assume into the registry

PS sorry with some of the typing errors above

I found that file in:
C:/windows/system32/
C:/windows/system/
C:/windows/sysWOW64/
If that helps any
Also in Total Commander directory. They are all of different sizes so I guess it is some kind of win system files that programs are permitted to modify.
Registry does not mention it at all.

You can download that file from here:

Replacing Msflxgrd.ocx | Ascentive Support Center

Scan the file and make sure it aint a virus.

It aint as simple as restoring the file, read the instructions on the page, and follow them. Let me know if this works. Scan all downloaded files with more than 1 Antivirus program.

Cant find all the files

CountMike, Thanks for your response. Looking at my PC I have one of the files you say you can see on your PC but not the other two and need to look more into this. I am just about to go away for a few days but I am going to try what XweAponX suggests when I return.

Remember you can't just "replace the file" - It's an OCX, so it must be registered. You have to use regsvr32 - Type

regsvr32 /i:install "msflxgrd.ocx"

(I think that is proper use, but check the REGSVR32 syntax before trying it)

Thanks

Thanks for the responses. I have managed to get round the problems on my PC by running the programme as an administrator. To a certain extent this seems a little strange as I have also just also managed to run the programme on my windows 8 64 bit laptop without any problems at all and without running as an administrator.

Good, if you ever need to re-install the OCX file, or even re-register it, just use that command.
