Windows 8.1 hiccups

Hey guys, I just installed windows 8.1 preview and I really like it but I am having a few hiccups with it. Whenever I click the explorer icon in the taskbar windows explorer will restart, causing the entire desktop to disappear briefly. It will not bring up the explorer window. Also, my toolbars are not near the icons in the taskbar tray. That isn't a big deal, but explorer crashing is. Does anybody have a solution for this? I don't want to have to rollback to windows 8.

I have learned that it is caused by Autodesk Inventor. Is there anyway to fix it so I can still use Inventor or should I just completely uninstall it?

For troubleshooting purposes, uninstall it, and see if this takes care of your problems ...

what IT,win8.1 or autodesk
i would uinstall autodesk and if solves the problem then i would try a reinstall

Not sure how you would uninstall Windows explorer?

I would first remove it from the taskbar. Then navigate to Windows. scroll to "explorer.exe". Right click and repin to the taskbar. I have no knowledge of how autodesk works, but it does seem that it has disrupted the default path.

Autodesk is uninstalled and explorer works fine now. I just wanted to keep autodesk on my machine so I could use it.

You could try reinstalling autodesk it may work all right after a reinstall

If the Autodesk program worked under 8, then reinstall 8 and toss 8.1 into the trash asap.

    Recently lost my Windows 8 on my main PC, had to go back to Windows 7.
I trashed 8.1 because none of my games would work either. I really liked it better than 8 though, so I hope it's not still a glitchy mess when it comes out in october.
