I'm thinking to remove the HDD and use a HDD reader with another laptop? Any further suggestions? Thanks!
That would be the easiest way, save you playing around in the UEFI/BIOS firmware.

    Would this help:

Restart your computer and press F8 or delete key or F 12 after the POST screen to bring up the boot menu. Choose 'boot in safe mode with command prompt.'

If your system gets to the command prompt successfully, type in rstrui.exe and then press enter. Follow the on-screen instructions to restore your computer to a previous saved point.

You would need a restore point to use though...

yah - try that, you an also do a system restore from the install CD if you cannot get into Safe Mode. It took me 5 months to figure out where they hid it!

If F 12 isn't presented as an option when you boot up, you need to enable it in the BIOS.

You also have to tell the system how LONG to show the F12 option, usually 2 seconds is plenty of time. On must systems, they notify you which keys are for what on the boot screen, sometimes they are shut off by default and you have to hit "show" as David posted. On mine, F8 is the Boot Manager not F12, but on the HP, it's F12. On other systems it's Escape, others still it is F2.

They user manual usually tells you which F keys do what.
