Hello friends, I am new here :D. I am a college student.

1 month ago i purchased HP Pav 15-e017TX. It came with pre-installed Win8 single language. After two weeks system used to create problem. So, i installed Win7 Ultimate by enabling Legacy mode.

Now, my parents are shouting at me because now HP logo is not visible while windows is starting up.
So, my question is that if i install Windows 8 PRO in UEFI mode as taught here : http://www.eightforums.com/tutorial...e-firmware-interface-install-windows-8-a.html So will i get that HP logo back? when windows 8 will start at booting process??

Sorry for my poor english, and thanks in advance. Please help me :D

Restore it to factory settings & the HP logo will come back.

I upgraded from 8 to 8 Pro with UEFI & I still have my Gateway logo.

I'm just curious though.

Why go to so much trouble to get to look at the HP logo for maybe 3 seconds at boot-up ?

If you consider this question inappropriate, I beg your pardon.

Thanks for the reply and No prob friend.:thumb:

Actually, after enabling Legacy mode i deleted all the hard disk partition and created a new partition using Win 7 DVD. So all the partition that was created by HP are lost. So, there is no chance to Restore it to factory settings.

The reason why my parents are shouting is that :
1. I removed the company installed OS.
2. And as HP logo is not visible during Win 8 bootup so it will void warranty. Hardly 1 month gone and still 11 month remaining so if something happens to hardware, the waranty is voided.

What i am asking is that if i install Win 8 pro after transferring file to pen drive as mention in this website and after successful installation of OS will i be able to see HP logo during win 8 bootup?? or Hp logo is lost forever.

I hope i am more clear now. :)

You got rid of the Recovery drive ?
I think the HP logo is lost. :(
Warranty voided.

Maybe contact HP & request Recovery Disks ?

They might be free Or cost some money....

You should be able to use the recovery disk(s) to return it to factory settings.

If so, the logo would come back.

Someone else here may be able to provide more detailed help.

It seems as long as you have a working OS on the computer, you could use recovery disks.

It sounds like you may have lucked out with your recovery disks ... insert disk #1 then reboot ( make sure that your cd/dvd drive is set to be the first drive to boot ) This should start your recovery process. Let us know how it goes.

there is a program floating around that will activate your Windows 7 and read the BIOS and put all those Logos back in. There are actually a few Programs. One of them is called ODIN, you select HP as the type pf computer and it sticks all the HP stuff back in

I can't tell you where to get it or even encourage you to use it, not in an open forum, all I can tell you is that it exists.

Deleting the rest of what I posted, looks like you had recovery disks made and got it all back that way. I can't really talk about how to brand a version of Windows 7, or 8 even, not in the forum.

It pays not to do strange things with a computer unless you really know what you are doing.
I include myself in that statement.
I experiment when answering posts for help, but I have everything backed up in case I really screw up.
Backup is very important.

Glad you got everything fixed. :)

Well said, not to do anything until i know it.

At the time of purchase shopkeeper told me you can install whatever OS you like. I never knew this laptop is UEFI moded rubbish BIOS otherwise i would have not purchased it.

That day i saw another HP PAV 15-E034TX which came with free DOS loaded and much much better than this laptop. I can install any OS i like specially Win 7 Ultimate.

Also i learned from this scene that i will never listen and trust to any shopkeepers and will always buy laptop according to my wish and not shopkeeper wish.

Because of you all i got it fixed again otherwise it was a nightmare for me, thanks again everyone :)
