Unable to boot into recovery disk

Hello,
I had some problems with Ubuntu, and wanted to recover my Windows 8 MBR, so that I can boot back into it, and not a corrupted version of Grub2. Anyway, I burned an iso for the Windows 8 recovery disk, and the disk is fine since it works on another computer. However, it doesn't work on the computer I want to use it on. The recovery disk says
Code:
Loading files...
, and completes a loading process. Then, blue squares go along the top of the screen. However, it suddenly turns off my computer in the middle of the process. I've tried this multiple times with the same result. Any help would be much appreciates, I really need to use my computer.
Thanks!

Would you happen to know if your Windows 8 system is UEFI or MBR? Do you have a boot option for a "Windows Boot Manager"?

There is really no reason the Recovery media will not boot, unless possibly it is the wrong configuration for that machine, or you are booting to the wrong version. The fact it starts to load would not seem to be a normal situation since you should have been notified of such a problem earlier in the process. The indications on the screen might be due to an incompatible video driver.

If you burned a Windows 8 DVD, there have been problems with them being able to boot into the UEFI configuration.

You may want to try the flash drive option.
