"Start" rectangle contour on left side bar, is it normal?

Today I start to seeing this when the pointer is in the top left side... is it normal?

It didn't happen before, I restart my computer, but it didn't fix anything

Hello Mildor, and welcome to Eight Forums.

Yes, that's normal. This is the app switcher that allows you to switch between opened apps in Windows 8/8.1.
You would just need to close an app to not have it display in app switcher anymore.

If you like, you can also turn off the switcher left hot corner to stop app switcher from opening when you have the pointer at the top left corner.

    Hope this helps,
    Shawn

Ok, thank you, but I am on windows 8 for almost 4 months, I know how to use it and how switcher works, The issue is that this WHITE COUNTOUR never shows up before, until today, I thought it was just me that never notice it, but I don't know... >_<

Yes, that's normal as well. It allows you to click on the white contour to switch to that app without opening App Switcher. It's also a quick way to let you know how many apps are opened without opening App Switcher.

Shawn - The "White Rectangle" is simply his Googol Chrome "Tile" as it appears with his default TAB showing:

(Man - It is REALLY Difficult to find the pic I made in the Tile version of Googol!)

    Hey Jon,

Nar, it's part of the app switcher. If you open more than one metro app, then you will see the same when you move the pointer in the upper or lower left corner without fully opening switcher.

I Know, but in his case his app switcher had Chrome running and a "New Tab" showing, because that's what mine looks like :/
