    Displayed time zone

I work and live in two different time zones. I'd like to display my home time zone, but my system time must be set to the network time and gets reset if I change it. I used to use the clock gadget in Windows 7 but Windows 8 no longer has it. I'm looking for a solution that is not invasive and hopefully free. I'm a programmer so I know a good deal about Windows, but I can't figure this one out. I am aware of the tool-tip time; its not what I'm looking for. I want to be able to check my time on the computer screen at a glance.

    Thanks.

Hello JS, and welcome to Eight Forums.

If this isn't what you were referring to as the tool-tip time, you could use the additional clock feature in Windows to have up to two other clocks set to whatever time zone you like. You would click or hover the pointer on the clock on the taskbar to see them.

    Hope this helps,

Yeah, that's what I was talking about. I have that set up. I would like to be able to see my home time at a glimpse while I code.

You could install the Windows 7 Gadgets pack on Win 8. I did to get the Weather gadget I liked.

Wow, another Bonzo Dog Band fan!

The additional clocks thing works good, you can just flip between the main clock and the work clock. or vice versa. I think there are gadgets that you can still find that show more than one clock, and the Gadget pack for Windows 8 adds Gadget support back into 8.

@Ztruker, I'll have to try that.

@XweAponX, Is there a way to change the task bar clock itself be an additional clock.

No it's not, check your AV may be blocking it.

An Additional Clock can only be seen when you left-click once on the clock, it'll pop up.

A Gadget will allow you to put it in sight, is his gadget site will not show on your puter, try this one:

Install Desktop Gadgets and Sidebar in Windows 8 | Team Windows 8

I think that's the one I used. Yes it is. It does not install any extra gadgets, only the default ones. After installing that you can download any Windows 7 gadget and use it
