can't type, framing of screen flashes, various problems

In the last month or so I have been having various problems with my 8 month old hp envy pc with windows 8. It started when one day all the icons on my desktop view suddenly got bigger and the minimize/close buttons disappeared from Google Chrome browser. Awhile later the most annoying thing happened. When I type the cursor times out at about 5 sec intervals so I can't type (like ths its so annoying, noticmissing letters due to timeuts!e) and at the same time the framing/background by the hotbar flashes bright and back to dark, like when you click on something. I can no longer scroll us the wheel on my mouse. Also when I highlight words to delete them I have to do it twice. Have checked my keyboard and mouse drivers and status, both utd and computer says functioning well. Ran virus check, none detected. Please help, so very frustrating!!!!!

Start with these free, bootable diagnostics (be sure to run one of the virus scans in case your virus scanner has been compromised): Initial Hardware Diagnostics

Even though you're not reporting BSOD's, Please provide this information so we can provide a complete analysis: Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) Posting Instructions

    Also, Please do the following:
    - open Event Viewer (eventvwr.msc)
    - expand the Custom Views category (left click on the > next to the words "Custom Views")
    - right click on Administrative Events
    - select "Save all Events in Custom View as..."
    - save the file as Admin.evtx
    - zip up the file (right click on it, select "Send to", select "Compressed (zipped) folder")
    - upload it with your next post (if it's too big, then upload it to a free file-hosting service and post a link here).

Right click on your Desktop, go to Personalization and in there, go to "Display" by clicking on it on the left side. It will say "Change the size of all items" - Change that back to 100% - If it is set to anything above 105% - The buttons you need may not be visible. Set the value back to 100% then log off and log back on, it will prompt you to do this.

If the value is set too high, it WILL put a warning message in there, that all of your programs may not be completely visible. Keep it at 100% it's the only way to see everything.

They are set at 100% already. Thanks. My biggest pblem is not being abe to tya a complete sentence ithout missing letteause the blue bacround at the top of the screen flashes from bluto white about every 5 secs, like I am clicking elsewhere. Also if I am just in desktop view the cursor turns from an arrow to a circle every 5 secs. Also recently, when I push the windows live tiles button, sometimes it flashes to a blue screen, if I push the windows button again, it goes back to normal with the tiles.

Sounds like you have a lot of disk activity. If it's not a Video Card failure of some sort, could be a rootkit.

Open Device Manager and find your Video Card - Roll it back to the previous driver. Is the image quality also very bad, like 8 colours? If you had allowed an MS Update to download a Video Driver, it can cause this sometimes, MS Update is notorious for providing bad drivers for video cards.

Here's the first error in the Admin Event Log (Bolding is mine):
The HP Connected Remote Service service terminated unexpectedly. It has done this 194 time(s). The following corrective action will be taken in 5000 milliseconds: Restart the service.
Also, the WER section of MSINFO32 shows many, many errors due to the HP Connected Remote Service and many, many CLR20r3 errors (.NET) blamed on HP Connected Remote (hpconnectedremoteservice.exe)

Please uninstall the HP Connected Remote program.
Once uninstalled, check in the Services snap-in (services.msc) to ensure that the service is gone (if not, set it to Disabled).
Also ensure that you have ALL Windows Updates - ensure that you get ALL for the .NET stuff in particular

Also check to make sure that you have all the latest versions of the .NET stuff installed. Maybe uninstall all the .NET and then reinstall it?

If this doesn't fix it, post back and we'll look for other, more elusive clues.

You can NOT uninstall any dot net from 8, it's in "Turn Windows Features On or Off" - Dot Net cannot be altered in any way, it can only be turned on or off. The only thing you can do is use the Dot Net Repair tool. which last time I tried it, didn't do anything.

If that HP service is causing it, he CAN remove THAT, it's probably not important anyway.
