In something you profess to not care about and something that is not a concern to you with Win8 8102?

    Got it.

If there is no hiberfile (I still have to check that with WinDirStat), I wonder how that hybrid hibernate function works. They have to dump the RAM state somewhere. Maybe they use the shadows technique. That uses a lot less space.

Well it would make sense to only dump the in use / modified RAM, right? So in that case, if we're looking at System reserved RAM, then the actual boot process only involves restoring the in use / modified RAM from a written location- the rest of the PC boots up as normal, as the System's RAM is already predefined. Would that explain the fast hybrid boot speed?

When I say system RAM, I am referring to that thread you posted somewhere whs, in regards to RAM allocation. https://www.eightforums.com/general-d...-reserved.html

Interesting - I am sure one day we will find out. The most compact way to store system states I have seen up to now are the shadows. Maybe they use this technology.

    Hi all

    ?????
    Does this stuff matter

As a USER I find W8 boot amazing compared with previous Windows incarnations -- OK Geeks want to discover why -- but for me the fact IT WORKS FAST is just 100% OK for me.

    Cheers

    Hi, Jim!

Start installing a bunch of programs ... indeed, Win8 8102 boot speed is quicker than Win7 boot speed but it degrades just the same as Win7 did after I first installed it.

    Any fresh install boots quickly.
