    Yea.
    I just downloaded it myself.
    I thought it was free.
    Sorry about that.

I just looked up that program and it looks like there is a large contingent of people claiming it is doodooware.

So be careful with it, both of you should scan for rootkits after installing and removing that.

    Beware of this company

These *******s, key in on a commonly searched Windows Error, and they create a link that shows up when you do a search. They make it look as legit as possible, but it ain't. I would do massive scans. And research that DLL fix. Isn't there a way to pull the original DLL file from the windows install disk? I noticed that Windows 7 and 8 don't have that i386 folder where all the system files are stashed, and you can just extract the needed file from. Can this be done on Vista/7/8?

Can one of US send him the file from one of our PCs? Will that work?

If the Exe is a self extracting archive, it may not show in a scan. These Pri***s are getting more clever in hiding malicious warez in these programs.

I have also noticed an increase in installers that don't contain any parts of the program (i.e. they are giant Internet shortcuts).

    Flash is even worse.
You run the so-called installer and it self-destructs.
If you need to update multiple computers, you have to copy the file and use the copy, or download it multiple times.

Don't ever use the "Flash" update that appears in a HUGE square popup box. The Real Flash Updater is a rectangular box, it is no other shape. Whatever program comes with the SQUARE Flash update box, is a virus. So it's best to just update Flash via the real Flash website.

I meant the official installer (downloaded from Adobe).

I agree with you about plugin messages on websites.
Ignore them and go directly to the appropriate website (easy enough for Flash, but not so easy for other "missing" plugins).

I just had it pop up yesterday, "Your Adobe Flash needs to be re-installed" - Looked pretty convincing, but I KNOW my Adobe stuff is all up to par. It came up after looking for a file on Sendspace.
