Moving my Media PC partition using Partition Wizard 7

Suddenly, the Acronis program I used to always use for partition copy, won't detect my USB mouse and KB. So, I'm having to do it with Partition Wizard 7. I've never used that to move a system partition, are there any issues doing it that way? The only other program I used to use for this kind of Op is paragon partition manager, which the version I have is not compatible with 8.

I don't like doing it this way, it's very slow compared to using the Acronis program, which seems to fly fast. Anyone have problems doing it like this?

I had a few problems with this - First off, as well as taking almost 4 hours to copy 500 GB, I could not BOOT to 8! I went in to my Windows 7 and tried to use the Boot manager in Yamicsoft to set my Windows 8 drive as the default boot - But It kept telling me it could not find my system files.

I put my install disk in, and tried an automatic repair, and THAT did not find anything. So I went into Command Prompt from the Install Disk, and ran BootRec, which found my Windows 8 installation, and added it back in.

But it STILL would not start the boot sequence, it would stay on the flashing cursor. But I was able to boot to Windows 8 using Hiren's Boot CD version 13, which has the Windows XP/Vista/7 Bootloader. THAT got me into Windows 8. All versions of Hiren's after 13 have that removed for some reason, which is why I keep that older disk around.

From there, I used the Yamicsoft Windows 8 Manager Boot Manager, and I was able to choose Windows 8 as the default boot drive and OS, set the 750 GB Drive as the default drive and while I was there I switched it to Legacy Mode.

My default Font had changed to Tahoma or something, so that was easy to switch back, I restored the default font settings via control panel.

When I booted to the hard drive, it booted to the legacy Boot Choice Menu, and I got right in.

So: I have a 320 GB Drive with Windows 7 on an IDE bus, and a 1 TB storage drive and my new seagate 750 GB Hybrid drive both on the Sata bus - Because of that IDE drive, the Bootloader is on THAT drive for both 7 and 8. Because the IDE drive wants to be seen first in the order of drives attached, after the SATA optical drive, no matter how much I set the 750 Gigger as the first drive in the hard drive pool. Under 7, the 320 gigger is drive C, under 8, the 750 gigger is, and the 1 TB drive is always drive D. Because of the change in the drives, I had to reset the whole thing. I don't know why Windows 8 set itself up like this on this system, but it did, so booting from the original 500 GB drive and/or the new 750 GB drive, would not load the OS choices. It has to be the 320 Gigger, which then pulls UP the Windows 8 System drive when it is selected.

So now, Hopefully I won't have to do so many GWscans of my Windows 8 System drive, I had to do about three in a row in the last 2 weeks. I'll take THAT drive and install it into my G5 and put OSX 10.3.9 so I can run Pro Tools 6.4 in that system. Maybe it will work better in a PowerPC.
