This is why I always do one OS per drive, one partition per drive. It's a better use of my space and since I made that my philosophy, I've never had any issues with booting, other than choosing the right boot order in my BIOS.

    Windows 7/Windows 8 Dual Boot

Got some good news and some bad news. Good news, winload works! Bad news, still can't load \windows\system32\config\system
But then that let us know two things. One: the bootloader CLEARLY finds the correct HDD which leads to two: either winload or some other file in the boot sequence is messed up and misleading where to find the file (and i don't know why that would be so, so im not banking on it) or the registry is somehow corrupted for some reason (also not banking on it). That's what i figure.

Edit: Any way to view the registry on another harddrive from the outside that you know of?
And i really think this is all Automatic Repair's fault.

Edit2: I messed with it a bit more and figured out i can aim the bootrec and bcdboot commands using diskpart and setting the desired partition to active while in recovery. Bcdboot was once giving me errors but i managed to make it run successfully on the 750 drive. Bootrec /fixmbr returns "Element not found" however. After running the remaining commands and attempting boot the win8 logo comes up for a split second and then goes to the same error screen.

This one specifically. Found it in the BSOD crashes and debugging section.

Yah you can use PEdit on Hiren's - Not sure if that is what it's called - You have to boot to Mini XP, then pull up the Hiren's Menu, look for Registry, and a link that says "Remote Registry" or something. I thought it was called PEdit, but it may be something else. But you'll see it, cos it says you can remote edit a system registry.

Also, that BSOD is the same one I get when my drive has Read Element Failure - Before you do anything else, try GWscan and see if there are any read errors on the drive.

GW scan is part of the Hiren suite right?
If it is i can't locate it.

You have to boot from the Hiren's disk to get to it, it's in DOS Programs/Hard Drive Tools. In order to use the Offline Registry Scanner, you must be in Mini-XP.

    Okay.

The quick test completed without any errors. And I'm able to read the registry files.

Annd dammit. Registry is corrupted, as i expected. I'm going to try a refresh again just to see.

Edit: Drive is locked error when i hit refresh. Seems im gonna have to do it the hard way.

I've resolved to saving as much as I can on the 160 and nuking the 750. Thanks for helping me out anyways (you've got rep!). I actually learnt a bit while doing this. But from what i know about the registry going down it's going to be a whole other monster to repair. I hope this thread can solve other problems too.

    Thanks again.

Welp. just remember, install Windows 7 first, 8 second, and on separate drives. Once you get it back in, if you do, I'll help you get it set up.
