Windows 8 laptop keyboard fully locked

Hi there,

I'm new to this forum, so good day to you all out there.

My son's laptop suddenly had all keyboard functions totally locked last night.

He was wondering whether he entered some sort of control sequence, accidentally, for this to happen.

He has managed to recover by going back to a restore checkpoint for earlier this week.

In case this happens again, is there any Windows control sequence he could have used to resolve this?

Start by connecting a USB keyboard to the laptop, see if it works at all, if it does, then it's possible the keyboard has gone bad on the laptop. Asus laptop? the Keyboards on those go bad occasionally, but replacements are cheap, staring around 8 bucks. If you don't have a USB keyboard, maybe you can borrow one from somewhere, another system or a neighbor?

Thanks for the reply, but the keyboard must be OK because it has now recovered after the checkpoint restore.

key Board is locked ASUS Notepad .I have the issue of having key board locked. It is windows 8 OS.

Solution: I fixed the following way .

Setting>>Change PC setting >>Ease of Access >>Key Board Make sure ALL THE FOLLOWING OPTIONS ARE OFF.


sticky key
Toggle key
Filter key

In my case the key board is unlocked above mentioned way.
