I just had to do this. After I moved my partition to a new drive, it would not BOOT. I had to use Bootrec from within the Install disk, that found my OS, then I had to use Hiren's Boot CD version 13 using "Windows 7 Loader" and it booted up, once in there, I was able to use Windows 8 manager's Boot Manager, and I set the default drive to the Windows 8 drive. And then it started booting again, before i was showing the flashing cursor.

Hey guys, sorry for my inactivity. Took a short trip to Canada. Anyways, I found that deleting the partitions through the Windows 7 boot disk worked fine, I created a new partition and now Windows 7 is working swimmingly... sort of. The drivers that came preinstalled on my computer prior to me purchasing it don't happen to be compatible with Windows 7. What should I do in this situation?

Find out the manufacturer and check on their websites for Win 7 equivalents.

If you a re not sure exactly what hardware is in there, you can use Aida64 to identify the hardware, they will show up the in the tree on the left panel under "Devices/Physical Devices". Aida64 should have some kind of free trial.
